How we create content

We write in plain English, avoid jargon where we can, and explain terms when we use them. Content is structured so you can quickly find what you need.

Evidence and sourcing

Health information is based on recognised, authoritative UK sources. Every information page lists the sources it draws on.

Review before publication

Editorial health content is reviewed before it is published. Pages that have not yet completed review are labelled clearly rather than presented as final.

Keeping information current

Pages carry a last-updated date and a planned review date. We update content when guidance or evidence changes.

Consumer Health is an independent health-information resource. We are not the NHS or a government body.
